Why Testing is Important

UK average omega-3 index is low

For optimal health, your % of omega-3 should be between 8 and 12%. The UK average is 2.8%. A risk for cardiovascular disease.

Your omega-6 to 3 ratio

The ratio for good health is below 4:1 and the UK average is 8:1. Omega-6 causes inflammation which leads to chronic illness.

Know your ideal dosage

If your omega-3 index score is below 4, you need at least 2,000mg EPA & DHA a day. If it’s over 8, you need a maintenance dose of 500 to 1,000mg.

Is your baby getting enough DHA?

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding your baby needs DHA for proper development. If your levels are low, you need 500mg of DHA a day.

Great price, comprehensive results
My family have used various online test services, including another company’s omega 3 test, and this has all the important features for a much better price.
The process is always a bit tricky, especially if it’s your first and there’s nobody to help, but the instructions and video for this are upfront about how many people find it difficult to produce big enough blood spots and provide really useful tips instead of an intimidating list of “don’ts” like the other companies.
Well worth doing, as even my partner who eats fish has found out his level is very low, so it galvanises your intention to spend money on a good dose for at least six months.

Would recommend.
Very easy to use, quick results. Very helpful and detailed report. Showing index, ratio and help with dosage. Much better than others on the market. A recent patch of bad anxiety forced me to look into my vitamin/nutrient levels and was very pleased to find Bare Biology.
