Why Testing is Important
UK average omega-3 index is low
For optimal health, your % of omega-3 should be between 8 and 12%. The UK average is 2.8%. A risk for cardiovascular disease.
Your omega-6 to 3 ratio
The ratio for good health is below 4:1 and the UK average is 8:1. Omega-6 causes inflammation which leads to chronic illness.
Know your ideal dosage
If your omega-3 index score is below 4, you need at least 2,000mg EPA & DHA a day. If it’s over 8, you need a maintenance dose of 500 to 1,000mg.
Is your baby getting enough DHA?
If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding your baby needs DHA for proper development. If your levels are low, you need 500mg of DHA a day.

A bit fiddly, so make sure you allow plenty of time to read instructions and warm your body up properly before trying to take blood (more than the few arm circles recommended). Results were comprehensive, most of which went over my head, but you do get a good summary. Worth doing and worth the money in my opinion.
